Time Blocks

Time blocks define when a resource is available to accept appointments. RouteSense™ only generates available slots within a resource's configured time blocks.

How Time Blocks Work

A time block specifies:

  • Which days of the week the resource works
  • The start and end time for each working day

For example, a resource might work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. RouteSense™ will never schedule an appointment outside those boundaries.

Time blocks operate within your location's business hours. If your location closes at 5pm, time blocks cannot extend past 5pm even if you configure them to.

How to Configure Time Blocks

  1. Go to Settings → Resources
  2. Select the resource you want to configure
  3. Click Time Blocks
  4. Set the working days and hours for each day
  5. Click Save

Setting Different Hours Per Day

You can configure different hours for each day of the week. For example:

How Time Blocks Affect Slot Availability

When a customer requests a date, RouteSense™ checks whether the resource has time blocks configured for that day. If the resource does not work that day, no slots are shown for that resource.

If multiple resources are available on a given day, RouteSense™ evaluates all of them and presents only the slots that at least one resource can fulfill.

Blocking Time Off

To block a resource from taking appointments on a specific date — for example, a vacation day or holiday — you can create a one-time block for that date in the resource's schedule.

Go to Settings → Resources → [Resource Name] → Block Time and select the date or date range to block.
