Adding Resources

A resource is anything that travels to perform a job — a technician, truck, mobile unit, or crew. Resources are the core of RouteSense™ scheduling: the engine tracks each resource's location throughout the day to calculate realistic available slots for incoming appointments.

How to Add a Resource

  1. Go to Settings → Resources
  2. Click Add Resource
  3. Enter a resource name
  4. Assign the resource to a location
  5. Click Save

Naming Resources

Name resources in a way that makes sense to your team. Common approaches:

  • By person name: John Smith, Maria Lopez
  • By vehicle or unit: Truck 1, Unit 3, Van Blue
  • By role: Tech A, Lead Crew

The resource name appears in your internal scheduler and schedule views. Customers on the Public Booking Page never see resource names — they only see time slots labeled Next Available.

Assigning a Resource to a Location

Every resource must be assigned to a location. The location determines:

  • Which service area the resource covers
  • Which time zone the resource's schedule displays in
  • Which booking settings (approval mode, lead time) apply

A resource can only be assigned to one location at a time.

What Comes Next After Adding a Resource

After creating a resource, you need to configure when they are available:

  1. Set up time blocks — the days and hours the resource accepts appointments
  2. Confirm the resource appears correctly in your internal scheduler under Schedule
